Food looked great to be fair but regrettably they're a little selective who they sell it to so we never got to try it. Arrived at 12.45 to be told they can't take a food order until after 2pm as the kitchen is 'busy' leaves a slightly bitter taste in your mouth - particularly as they let you order your drinks first.. told on hungry exit that we should book next time (1 adult and 1 child). It was a Saturday in december and I guess about a third full. A local pub for local people if you know what I mean. Update.What a difference a week can make. Visited again today (rang first) and couldn't have been treated better. Food and service great, really family friendly (room to the right is very informal with a pool table so ideal for kids). Anyone can have a bad day so really glad we went back as this is a pub that deserves to succeed. Thanks.
A welcoming and friendly family team, made our stay a wonderful experience. Nothing was too much trouble.Truly dog friendly. The whole place is spotless, the bedroom was cosy, bed very comfortable, shower hot..The owners really know how to run a good pub, with acomodation that meets the needs of travellers to this serene part of the Lake District..We will be back.
Ale is well kept and food is amazeballs. Get the pie of the day and you'll be in heaven. Hotel is historic and you can walk off your meal in the many trails around the village and surrounding woods. Big outdoor seating area is especially nice.
Have to say what a lovely stay we had over the weekend at this hotel. The staff were friendly and accommodating, the room had everything needed, and the beds comfortable, even with a snorer in the room I got a good night sleep. The food was home cooked and thoroughly enjoyed. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Silverdale or nearby. Lovely views from the family room to.
Really great pub. Delicious pies and burgers. Fantastic puddings, best lemon meringue pie I have ever tasted and even a dairy free, gluten free pudding choice. Staff attentive and friendly. A lovely experience, thank you.
